Picture
Attorney Artila Lubonja was admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut in 2012. Attorney Lubonja has extensive experience representing disadvantaged children throughout Connecticut's family courts. Prior to entering private practice, she was a Staff Attorney at The Children’s Law Center of CT for over seven years. In her exclusive role as a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), Attorney Lubonja was appointed by the Court to represent the best interests of hundreds of children stranded in the middle of their parents’ divorce and custody disputes. She helped countless families navigate the court system, while reducing their conflict, and primarily focusing on the children’s needs and best interests. Additionally, Attorney Lubonja has a great deal of experience in mediating divorce and custody disputes for people choosing a non-adversarial approach. Attorney Lubonja commenced her work in family law, when she clerked for the Hartford Superior Court, Family Division in 2012.

Attorney Lubonja earned her Juris Doctor degree from Western New England University, School of Law in 2012, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, Summa Cum Laude at the University of Connecticut, in 2009. During law school, Attorney Lubonja was selected for a judicial clerkship with the First Justice of the Hampden Probate and Family Court in Springfield, MA., where she drafted numerous decisions for the Court. Furthermore, Attorney Lubonja was a certified legal intern for the Department of Children and Families in Waterbury, where she participated in substantiation hearings in cases of abuse and neglect.

Attorney Lubonja is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, Family Law Section and Young Lawyers Section, as well as the Waterbury Bar Association. She is also a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. Moreover, she remains active in the community, serving on the Scholarship Committee of the American Savings Foundation.

Attorney Lubonja understands that our clients often come to us at the most difficult junctures of their lives. Rest assured that you will receive personal attention, compassion and effective representation to help you best navigate this trying time in your life.
